You mean it doesn't work that way in real life?
Well, if it was in Astro Boy, it's good enough for me. It was more the "Wtf are Theo and Maurice doing and why are the clocks all dead" stuff...
Theo and Maurice's plan will be revealed to much wailing and nashing of teeth in the final episode. Kind of a gleeful screaming out of: "...I like that. Kind of a gleeful screaming out of: "THIS IS NOT A BEN CHATHAM STORY!!"

Of course not. A BC story would have ended with Ben taking credit for Daniel's sacrifice while his family sing, "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow".

But mainly it was expedience. If they had tried to use the TARDIS to clear his mind, win or lose, the entire plot would be different.

Daniel's death was a real shock, though.
Yeah, I thought it was a bit out of the blue. It's definitely the first time since Image the story hasn't ended after the main villain kills themselves...

but I was under the impression that Daniel was the actual villain rather than just a vessel.
That's me deliberately muddying the waters, but Daniel was a nice, sweet bloke who did not want to revel in chaos and destruction.

And he paid the price.

Also, props for the sense of mystery. When I have no frigging idea what's going on by the end of Ep One I know it's a good story.
Well, I hoped it made a KIND of sense.
